When printing a landscape project, the program informs the printer that it needs to be printed in landscape mode. For some reason, your printer is not switching the orientation.
We recommend that the first thing you do is update the printer drivers. Even if you just recently purchased the printer, we still recommend you check with the printer manufacturer’s website, as there may be an update to the drivers. Typically, these are found in either a Driver or Support section on the manufacturer’s website. You want to download and install the drivers with the steps provided on the manufacturer’s website.
If updating your printer drivers does not resolve the issue, then you want to manually set the paper orientation to landscape mode. The precise steps on how to do this varies depending on the make and model of the printer. Please refer to your printer documentation for specific steps.
Typically, the paper orientation can be changed in the Printing Preferences window. Perform the following steps to access this:
- Right-click the Start button and click Settings
- In Settings window click on Devices
- Under Devices list click Printers & scanners
- Click on your printer and click Manage button
- Click on Printing Preferences
From here, you will look for an option that shows the orientation of the paper. You will switch it to landscape. Once it selected, you will click the OK button to save the changes. Then, go back and try printing the project again.
