Correct. Starting with Hallmark Card Studio 2006, the functionality of the Event Planner Reminders have changed. With previous versions, the "thumb tack" icon would appear in the System Tray. You could double-click on it and open the Reminders screen, whether or not a Reminder was scheduled for that day. 

In Hallmark Card Studio 2006, that icon was removed from the System Tray. If a Reminder was scheduled for that day, the Reminder window will open automatically on startup. If no Reminders are scheduled, the window will not open.
