It is not necessary for you to re-enter all your information from Hallmark Card Studio 2008 into Hallmark Card Studio 2009.

By default, when you launch the Event Planner for the first time, it should detect your installation of Hallmark Card Studio 2008. It will prompt you asking if you want to import that information. Simply select the option to import that information. You will then be displayed a list of programs, if there are more than one installed. Select the Hallmark Card Studio 2008 from the list and click the Finish button.

If for some reason the option to import that information does not appear when you launch the Event Planner, you can manually start the process. Simply open the Event Planner and click on the Import button. On the Import Data Source screen, click the "Existing Event Planner installation" option and click Next. Then, select the Hallmark Card Studio 2008 from the list and click Finish.

If neither of these options work and you have a copy of the PLANR32 files from Hallmark Card Studio 2008 still on your computer, you can simply copy those files into Hallmark Card Studio 2009. Here is how you can do that:

  1. Close all Hallmark Card Studio and Event Planner programs that may be open.
  2. Double-click on your Computer icon, or go to the Start menu and select Computer from there.
  3. Double-click on the C:\ drive
  4. Double-click on the Users folder.
  5. Double-click on the <USERNAME> folder.

Note: You will replace the <USERNAME> with either your login name or possibly "Owner". Each computer varies on how it was configured. So, you may have something else that needs to be inserted for the <USERNAME>. If you are prompted to over-write the existing files in the second folder, select the OK or Yes button to copy them over.
  6. Double-click on the AppData folder.
  7. Double-click on the Roaming folder.
  8. Double-click on the Hallmark folder.
  9. Double-click the Planner folder.
  10. Select both of the PLANR32 files.
  11. Right-click on one of the files.
  12. Select the Copy option from the pop-up menu.
  13. Close this window.
  14. Double-click on your Computer icon, or go to the Start menu and select Computer from there.
  15. Double-click on the C:\ drive
  16. Double-click on the Users folder.

  18. Double-click on the AppData folder.
  19. Double-click on the Roaming folder. If there is no Roaming folder, skip to the next step.
  20. Double-click on the Creative Home folder.
  21. Double-click on the Hallmark Card Studio 2009 folder.
  22. Double-click on the Planner folder.
  23. Right-click in the blank area on the right-hand side of the window.
  24. Select the Paste option from the pop-up menu.
  25. If you receive a prompt to overwrite the existing files, click on the Yes or OK button.

Once those files are copied to the correct location, the information in your Hallmark Card Studio 2008 Event Planner will now be in the Hallmark Card Studio 2009 Event Planner.
