When you print an envelope, you select the size of the envelope from the list and Hallmark Card Studio tells the printer which size it is printing to. For some reason, your printer is not switching the size.

We recommend that the first thing you do is update the printer drivers. Even if you just recently purchased the printer, we still recommend you check with the printer manufacturer’s website, as there may be an update to the drivers. Typically, these are found in either a Driver or Support section on the manufacturer’s website. You want to download and install the drivers with the steps provided on the manufacturer’s website.

If updating your printer drivers does not resolve the issue, then you want to manually set the paper size to the matching envelope size. The precise steps on how to do this varies depending on the make and model of the printer. Please refer to your printer documentation for specific steps.

Typically, the paper size can be changed in the Printing Preferences window. Perform the following steps to access this:

  1. Click the Start button
  2. Click the Control Panel and go to Printers and Faxes. If you are on an older version of Windows, you may need to go to the Settings menu and then select the Printers option.
  3. Right-click the printer that you want to print on.
  4. Select the Printing Preferences option from the pop-up menu.

From here, you will look for an option that shows the default paper size that it is printing to. You will switch it to a size that matches the size that was selected in Hallmark Card Studio. Once it selected, you will click the OK button to save the changes. Then, print the envelope again.
